Quick Summary: Merge Activists in Action Network

In this Action Network tutorial, learn how to merge two activists together by locating them and then merging their records.

Over time, an activist may join your list using different email addresses, creating multiple records in your Action Network account. Merge these records together to keep your activists organized and up-to-date. 💾

STEP-BY-STEP

How to Merge Two Contacts Together

Keep your activist records up-to-date by merging any duplicate activists.

  1. Under People in the main menu, click on Activists or hover over Activists and click on the View All icon.
  2. Search for the activist records you’d like to merge together by entering their email address, name or address. Hit Search.
  3. Next to the record you’d like to make the main record, click on View Record.
  4. Once you’re on the Activist page, scroll down to the bottom of the left column. You’ll see a Merge text link. Go ahead and click on it.
  5. This will take you to the Activist to Merge page. Search for the other record(s) you’d like to merge this one with. Click on the Choose Fields to Keep button next to the record you’d like to merge the first one with.

6. Verify that the fields it’s going to keep (in green) are correct and then click Merge Activists.

Now, if you go back to People in the main menu and click on Activists, you can search for the activist. The search results will now only show the one activist record.
